Can I WIFI-Direct from my Android phone to my laptop? Unfortunately the answer is often times, NO! WIFI-Direct is new technology. Surely they are pushing it as the standard, but to be realistic, WIFI-Direct is not enabled on most Android phones. Only the recent phones and flagship phones have WIFI-Direct capable wifi components.
I have downloaded the latest intel Mywifi dashboard but cannot see the TV from the laptop. If I use Windows 8.1 charms to try and add a wireless display it does not find the TV (it does show the TV listed as a play device but not as a wifi direct wireless display device. I have my Laptop on a wireless connection but I don't fancy forking out an extra 60 for a Wireless adapter for my 360 when I'm sure I could use my laptops Hardwire ports. I keep my laptop like 6 feet away from my 360 and rarely move it any further than that.
